Explore! Being so close to the heart of the city makes it easy to go experience Atlanta in a variety of ways. Over the course of my first semester, some of my favorite moments in Atlanta have been ice skating at Atlantic Station, "Lime-ing" the Beltline to Ponce City Market, going to a Hawks game, and trying out restaurants like Cafe Intermezzo.
Going on a morning run, spending time with friends, and studying in the Matheson Reading Room. Life can definitely get busy, but I make it a point to set aside time to do these things every day.
My most impactful class has been my CS171 class in so many ways. Having a female professor in my first college computer science course was an amazing and inspiring experience. In addition, the course itself was by no means easy. Struggling throughout the semester allowed me to leave the course a better programmer and a more passionate student. Taking this course has showed me how truly passionate I am about computer science, making any bumps along the road worth it. Simply put, I feel much more well rounded and inspired after taking this class.
My favorite Emory tradition is Wonderful Wednesday, which is basically a mini-festival every every week. Each week brings something different, but refreshing. College life can be stressful at times, so it is nice to have something to look forward to each week. Wonderful Wednesdays are the perfect time to catch up with friends and take a little break during the day.
