My favorite Emory tradition so far has been Songfest, which is when all the freshman residents halls perform a choreographed dance and sing, competing for first place. The songs are about highlighting the best parts of each residents hall and practicing the routines with my fellow hallmates was always super fun and was a great way to get to know each other.
On a random day, you're most likely to find me sitting outside enjoying the scenery around me. I've always been a person who loves nature and being outdoors and with Emory's beautiful campus and weather, I can enjoy a beautiful day studying outside either outside the ESC, on the quad, or near a window in the library.
My most impactful class so far has been my freshman seminar on witches in the Women's Gender Studies Department. We have very stimulating conversation about the persecution of witches and how that relates to inequality in the treatment of women around the world. Being able to discuss my thoughts and talk freely and openly about issues that relate to me in a class has given me confidence in my own thoughts and ideas.
My favorite thing to do in Atlanta is visit Lennox Mall or walk around Ponce City Market with my friends. It's a great way to unwind on the weekends and enjoy my friend's company and great food while getting off campus and exploring the city.
