Ambassador at Emory University
Class of 2026
Hometown: Houston, TX
Major: American Studies
Walking with friends at Lullwater. I never thought that such beautiful nature would be so accessible in a city like Atlanta, but I was pleasantly surprised at how easy it would be to escape the hustle of campus and spend some time in the fresh air. It's especially beautiful during the fall! The leaves take on such a magnificent color.
go out to eat! I have really high standards for food, and Atlanta certainly delivers. The city is so diverse, and that just creates a wonderful culinary scene that I have absolutely adored exploring. Some of my favorite restaurants so far include Murphy's, Grana, Velvet Taco, and The General Muir (great deli just a five minute walk from campus!).
My favorite Emory tradition is Wonderful Wednesday. I love running into my friends tabling with clubs they are becoming involved in. It's a great way to experience campus culture that I haven't yet, and every week, I learn about a new group or activity that I have never heard of before! Wonderful Wednesdays just remind me of how robust and active Emory student life is, and you can't forget about the free swag!
Hebrew 301 has been so transformative for me. I took Hebrew throughout school, but I am not a native speaker, so I was worried that I wouldn't be able to keep up. Though I've definitely had my struggles, I've learned more than I could have ever imagined. The class is so immersive, and my favorite part is that it encourages me to study to improve my skills in the language, not just for a grade. I would highly recommend the department to anyone interested!
