to admire the skyline! My friends and I often find ourselves driving on the outskirts of the city just to enjoy a nice view of the skyline after grabbing a quick bite from places in downtown that are on our "Yelp list". I personally find Atlanta's skyline to be one of the reasons why I am so fond of this city: it is truly a charming sight to see!
My freshman year I took an Introduction to Sexualities class under the WGSS Department. At that time, I was unsure about pursuing a major or minor in this department. However, our discussion sessions in this class were truly riveting; it was amazing to see how Emory students from a variety of backgrounds and experiences contributed to the academic and social culture. I ended up writing my first college paper ever in that class with the support of my incredible Graduate Instructor, and I realized that I had found my voice. This is what made me fall in love with the Women Gender and Sexuality Studies major.
My favorite Emory tradition is the Farmers Market that we have every Tuesday. We have vendors from all over the local area selling a variety of homemade cuisines, tea, donuts, and even produce! It's really nice to walk to class on a Tuesday day amidst the farmer's market to see the Emory student body connecting with local Atlanta. My personal favorite has to be the granola vendor: his vanilla granola is to die for!
on shift with the Emory Emergency Medical Services. Emory EMS is a truly rewarding organization that is so near and dear to me. Not only do I gain such invaluable volunteer experience, but my fellow colleagues are like my second family!
