What is your favorite Emory tradition?

My favorite Emory tradition is probably the weekly Farmer's Market. Going there to grab some Cuban food or Moroccan food and catch up with my friends is an opportunity to relax and unwind while also feeling very connected to my community of fellow Emory students. It's a great pick me up in the middle of the week and always adds a little bit of delight to my Tuesdays afternoons.

What has been your most impactful class?

I took a Comparative Literature class the spring of my first-year that addressed feminist literature from the 1700s to today. We read and analyzed three novels across the time period, each written by women, and analyzed their effectiveness as "feminist literature". Having the opportunity to discuss gender equality in class through the lens of some pretty incredible books was very impactful. Although the class was far outside of my major and pre-professional track, it was one of the most moving classes I have taken at Emory.

My favorite thing to do in Atlanta is...

When the weather is nice, laying on the grass of Piedmont Park or going for a jog are some of my favorite activities. I am also an avid hiker and have enjoyed exploring many of the trails in the Atlanta area or just outside of the city. Lucky for me, Atlanta's warmth is very conducive to my love of outdoor activities. Atlanta is also an incredible place to try new foods and experience some unique restaurants. From Buford Highway's cultural foods to the more mainstream restaurants scattered along the Beltline, some of my most enjoyable time in the city has been spent eating good food, going for a walk/electric scooter ride on the Beltline, and finishing it off with a scoop of Brown Butter Almond Brittle ice cream from Jeni's.

On a random day, you're most likely to find me….

Throwing a frisbee on the quad, picnicking on the quad, hammocking on the quad, or studying on the quad. Pretty much anything outside on the academic quad (when the weather is nice, of course!). If the weather is not so nice (the Atlanta rain can be relentless), I frequent the Matheson Reading Room or the Health Sciences Library to study.
