What is your favorite Emory tradition?

My favorite Emory tradition is Songfest. As a first year, it was an amazing way to meet my hall mates and learn about the residence halls. I will never forget the excitement of running onto the gym floor, covered in face paint and wearing my hall's shirt, and performing this crazy routine. As a sophomore advisor, I helped create the choreography and lyrics, and my hall won! It was incredible to hear our hall's name as they announced the winner, followed by so many screams and hugs. We had done it!

What has been your most impactful class?

My most impactful class has been Marine Ecology. I have always been passionate about water and water systems, and being from Florida, this was a very important topic to me. Our teacher had lots of experience doing research in this field, and it opened a door for me to do research. Rather than just learning about marine ecosystems, the class was discussion based, and we analyzed different research papers. It was really interesting to see what scientists were investigating, and I was very proud of my proposed research project at the end of the semester.

My favorite thing to do in Atlanta is...

My favorite thing to do in Atlanta is either walk the Beltline or visit the Woodruff Arts Center. The Beltline is a walking/biking trail around metro Atlanta. There are often sculptures and various art, as well as really neat shops, on either side of the path. Its a great way to see the city, get some exercise, and have fun with friends. I also love the Woodruff Arts Center because there is so much to do! The Atlanta Symphony is there, as well as the High Museum and the Alliance Theater. There are some amazing performances and art, and often, you can get a discounted ticket by being an Emory student.

On a random day, you're most likely to find me….

On a random day, you're most likely to find me in a study lounge in Alabama Hall (the best hall). My friends are probably hanging out with me, talking about their classes and their exciting weekend plans. I am working on some kind of club project, and trying to convince my friends to go out with me for cookies or ice cream.
