Find new Restaurants! My ongoing goal as an Emory student is to find new places to eat both close to campus and in the city. As of recently, I've been Falafel King's biggest fan which is located right in Emory Village but I've also ventured out into Midtown to have brunch a few times. I love that I never get bored food-wise in the ATL and I'm always looking for something new.
At Kaldi's Coffee (at The Depot). I'm all about finding the right study spot on campus. While I tend to migrate towards the library as we get closer to exams, most of the year I find the atmosphere at Kaldi's to be the perfect study spot. Plus, their quesadillas are a must if you're there for the late-night menu.
I loved my LGBTQ History course. I felt that before college, a lot of what I was learning was very general, and there was no time to dive deep into topics I was genuinely interested in. I got to spend an entire semester learning about LGBTQ history in a way that went into detail on historical issues facing the LGBTQ community. I was never comfortable with History Classes, but being able to take a class I was really excited about changed that for me.
As much as I love Songfest as someone involved with Residence Life, I loved attending Dinner with 12 Strangers even more. I got to have dinner with a local Emory alumna and 10 other students at Emory (both undergrad and grad) and enjoy a really great home-cooked meal. It showed me how connected the Emory community was after graduation and there was even a celebrity appearance by Emory's unofficial mascot Dooley.
