I am most likely running with a friend, and I am almost always listening to music. When I'm running, studying, or even just walking around, I am always listening to music.
My favorite Emory tradition is definitely Songfest! Songfest is a tradition in which all the first-year residence halls prepare a dance and several mashed up songs that they perform in front of all the other halls. It's a way to bond as a hall and show all the other halls why yours is the best! It was such a great way to connect with people on my hall and it was competitive in a really fun way. It was also a really great way to bolster school spirit! I met so many people on my floor through Songfest, and it was a really engaging way to begin my Emory career!
My most impactful class has been my Great Books of History class. For class each day we read a portion of what is widely considered to be a "great book", and we discussed them. I was exposed to so many works that have shaped our society and the way that many people think, and I believe it was a really valuable class for me to take, especially my first semester my first year.
I love going to the Beltline and Ponce City Market! Ponce City Market has the best food, and there are so many options. It's also really fun walking on the Beltline with friends, and sometimes there will be events there like the lantern festival in September that immerse you in more of the Atlanta community.
