Eat! I am a major foodie, and I love going up to Atlanta after a day of classes and finding new and interesting restaurants to try. I highly recommend Kura Revolving Sushi Bar, and any of the surrounding boba and dessert places!
In the library! I love being surrounded by books and spending time with my friends. You'll either see me working at the front desk, or in one of the study rooms on the second floor, goofing off with my friends. We love to rent out one of the study rooms and make an impromptu movie night!
My most impactful class has been Theatre 200RE. In it, I and the seven other students put on a production of Shakespeare's "As You Like It" in just seven weeks. I spent four days out of the week with this extremely talented group of my peers, and got to know them- and the professor, Dr. Nick Fesette- very well. We ended up performing in the woods, and putting on such an experiential show was an extremely transformative experience for me. It renewed my love of theatre, and I garnered such a strong relationship with my professor that him and I will be doing independent research next semester.
My favorite tradition is definitely the Coke Toast. At the beginning of our time at Oxford, everyone in the class- as well as their families- comes together and listens to an address from the Dean, and then participates in a toast to a successful time at Oxford. During commencement, there is another Coke Toast; it's a wonderful bookend to the Emory experience. I loved looking around the Quad and seeing all of the smiling faces of the people that I will be spending the next four years with.
