at Emory University
Class of 2023
Hometown: San Ramon, CA
Secondary Major: Philosophy
I first visited Piedmont Park during Music Midtown, a music festival that many Emory students attend during the fall. However, I loved it so much that I return there often during the weekends, often buying food at the Saturday farmers market or just walking around with my friends in this beautiful park located close to campus.
My most impactful class here at Emory has been my Italian 101 class with Dr. Gary Waters. I am originally Italian, so I was interested in taking an Italian language class so I could easier interact with my family that lives in Italy. However, this class taught me so much more than just language and grammar basics- I was able to learn more about the rich culture and history of Italy and explore Italian society in both modern times to the Renaissance.
You can almost always find me in the amazing study lounge that we have on my floor in Turman Hall, my first-year residence hall, which allows me to study with my friends on the floor.
My favorite Emory tradition definitely was my first few days at Emory during Orientation. Even though I didn't know anyone at Emory before attending, immediately on the first day I was able to find friends and interact with so many people. I was able to find lifelong friends just in the first week, and also mentors in my Orientation Leader, Resident Advisor, and Student Advisors that helped me continuously later on in my undergraduate career.
