My favorite thing to do in Atlanta is...

Explore the arts events here! I was able to attend the Decatur Book Festival my first year at Emory and listen to some incredible talks by activists, writers, and scholars. I also can’t wait to attend concerts and other performances like Music Midtown that come to Atlanta.

On a random day, you're most likely to find me….

Playing tennis with my friends. Emory has ten tennis courts, four inside and six outside, which means that I can always find an open court to play or practice. It’s a lot of fun and only a few minutes from my residence hall!

What is your favorite Emory tradition?

I absolutely love Songfest, an event in which all of the first-year residence halls compete against each other through song and dance. I had so much fun getting to know people in my building and really developed a lot of spirit and pride in my residence hall.

What has been your most impactful class?

I really enjoyed my first-year seminar, titled Natural Disasters: Science vs. Hollywood. Not only is it fascinating and relevant to learn about natural disasters in the time of climate change, but it’s a lot of fun to analyze how they are represented in Hollywood movies and see what misconceptions the public might hold about such calamities. Getting to meet other first-year students interested in environmental science and learn more about the issues climate change is bringing upon society galvanized me to continue my involvement in environmental advocacy.
