Community Building and Social Change 370. This is an amazing class that I took out of luck and pure curiosity, and I am so happy I did. I got to be part of a small group of passionate students who learned from a world class professor who was on the ground for many of the community building projects we learned about. We not only learned the framework of building a community, but how to be global and responsible Emory University students and acknowledge and our learning the classroom can have a direct impact in the communities we will grow, live and work in one day.
On a bench outside Cox dining hall with a diet coke in hand. I just love sitting outside and relaxing especially during Emory's fall foliage. It's a great way to forget about the stresses of the day and especially amazing when friends come join.
Go out and explore new restaurants and neighborhoods. I love getting lost with my friends and find new restaurants that we didn't even know exist. The best guides are rideshare drivers who have just a wealth of information on the city and because of them I am able to highly recommend some really great eateries and neighborhoods that are a must see.
Songfest!! It's a competition between first year residence halls where students from each hall perform a song and dance routine. It's the best way to meet people in you first week. To this day I still remember a few of the song lyrics, and some of the dance moves. However, the best part is the school spirit that is created by the whole freshman class singing at the top of their lungs and dancing like they are in it to win it. This event is so much fun airplanes flying over can hear how much excitement we create in the gym :)
