My favorite Emory tradition is the Coke Toast. The Coke Toast occurs right before orientation starts and the night before graduation and is a way to beautifully bookend your Emory career and celebrate with Coca-Cola, an important part of Emory's history.
My favorite thing to do in Atlanta is go and support the wide variety of professional sports teams! I love going to Braves games at the new Suntrust Park and I recently went to my first Falcons game at Mercedes Benz Stadium. My first Hawks basketball game was actually free through Emory Second Year Experience. Going to games is such a great way to get immersed in the Atlanta community and culture.
in the Schwartz Performing Arts Center! I'm always there practicing percussion or in rehearsal for either Emory Percussion Ensemble, Emory University Symphony Orchestra or the Wind Ensemble!
My most impactful class was my freshman seminar, History of the American Death Penalty, taught by Dr. Daniel LaChance. The course surveyed America's most brutal form of punishment in history, society and popular culture. I loved the class and professor so much that I became a history major and now Dr. LaChance is my history thesis advisor!
