The high-stakes, high-energy Oxford Olympics has been by favorite tradition so far. After a week of introductory activities with our orientation groups at the very beginning of school, the entire first-year student body went head-to-head in an evening of serious (and some not so serious) athletic throw-downs. My group, Group 21, might have come up short, but the Ox Olympics still holds a place in my heart.
My Discovery Seminar class, Politics of Religious Freedom with Dr. Pohl, opened my eyes to the how complex religious studies could be. We explored religion as it intersected with culture, which allowed me to view culture and history through a critical and thought-provoking lens. And it was lots of fun!
