Oxford Ambassador and Ambassador at Emory University
Class of 2023
Hometown: Old Lyme, CT
Major: Theater Studies
Secondary Major: Philosophy, Politics, Law
My most impactful class so far was Introduction to Social and Political Philosophy with Dr. Mousie. It was my first philosophy class ever, and it introduced me to the topic and actually made me decide to major in it! I loved the readings Dr. Mousie selected for us, and I enjoyed the challenge of digging into what the philosophers were writing about and having dynamic class discussions about the readings.
I take a tap class in Atlanta at a studio called Dance 101, and it's a lot of fun! It had been a while since I broke out the tap shoes since high school, so it was great to get back into it when I came to school here at Emory. I'm hoping to try out some of their other dance classes soon, too!
You'll often find me in the Oxford Student Center! The Student Center is a great place to meet up with friends in a lively environment. My friends and I love to visit the JFK (the Jackson Family Kitchen, one of Oxford's dining options located in the Student Center) for milkshakes!
My favorite Emory tradition is Midnight Pancakes at Oxford, when Dean Moon makes pancakes for the student body at midnight one night during finals week. It draws the community together and provides something fun to do as a break from studying for finals.
