in the library. I like to call my residence hall my home, but the library is my second home at Emory. Yes, it is my favorite place to study, but I constantly am inspired by my hardworking peers and I love a good impromptu meeting. I am guaranteed to see someone I know while I am there, at any hour of the day. I also really like the banana bread sold on the first floor.
My favorite tradition was Songfest. Songfest is a song and dance battle between the first year residence halls that all first year students can participate in during Orientation week. I feel like Songfest served as a catalyst to solidify the friendships I made within my hall. I am still mad that Complex won, even though my friend did a backflip and our music stopped halfway through.
is explore the arts culture. My favorite memory was going with the ballet club to see the Atlanta Ballet perform Giselle. This experience was particularly special to me because one of my former teachers was performing and I shared the evening with my closest friends. I like knowing there was something I could do in Atlanta other than something touristy and food related, but do not get me wrong, I love those things too.
My most impactful class was my first year writing class. It was titled Fairy Tales, and it ruined my favorite stories in the best way possible. The class looked beyond the blissful ignorance of all the tales and the characters within them to dive deeper into classical and modern motifs.
