Dinner with 12 Strangers! Every semester, the Emory Alumni Association puts together these dinners, bringing 12 students, faculty, and alumni together for a night of good food and conversation. I love them because they push me outside my usual social circles - I get to meet new people, hear different perspectives, and have some really interesting discussions. It’s such a fun way to feel more connected to Emory’s strong and supportive community. (Plus, a free dinner is always nice!)
Exploring the Atlanta Beltline! This urban walking trail stretches through many different neighborhoods. I love checking out the shops and restaurants at Ponce City Market, or hanging out at Piedmont Park. There's always something new to discover along the way,
Probably somewhere in the Student Center. Whether I’m studying, lounging around, or grabbing a meal at Dobbs Common Table, it’s my go-to spot on campus. I love the atmosphere of the space - there’s always something happening. Plus, I can almost always count on running into friends there.
SOC 190: Sociology of Conservatism with Dr. Lechner, my first-year seminar. Every class was built around discussion or debate, and it was super interesting to hear such a wide range of perspectives from other students. Dr. Lechner really pushed us to think critically and challenge our own assumptions, which made the class both engaging and thought-provoking. I cannot recommend this class and professor enough!
