Wonderful Wednesdays are a fun way of bringing people together and adding some fun into the middle of the week. I learned about a bunch of cool organizations on campus during my first-year at Emory because of Wonderful Wednesdays, and I enjoyed tons of free food and activities.
SO many to choose from. In Fall 2020, I took a Voter Suppression and Voting Rights class with the world-renowned Dr. Carol Anderson that was inspiring, timely, and very informative. I took an amazing Urban/Cultural History of Atlanta class that involved field trips to various important sites! Also, I had an awesome class that focused on 20th Century US History through Pop Music. Our homework assignments were Spotify playlists!
in the library doing work, walking/running through Lullwater ravine, or spending time with my friends at a cool Emory or Atlanta event.
Volunteering at Friends of Refugees, an amazing nonprofit based in Clarkston, GA. I work with the youth programs in an after-school program for elementary school students. This weekly volunteering is made possible by the Emory Center for Civic and Community Engagement's SHINE program. I also love the food in Atlanta, and I hope to try a bunch of new restaurants around the city!
