Amy X.

Oxford Ambassador at Emory University

Class of 2023

Hometown: Reading, MA

Major: Interdisciplinary Studies

Secondary Major: Psychology

What has been your most impactful class?

The Arts of U.S. Activism with Dr. Alix Olson! It was in her class that the walls of my mind completely dropped open. During class, my most common thoughts were “I love this” or just “YES! Yes! Yes!” It was my first experience with gender theory and critical thinking around activism.

On a random day, you're most likely to find me….

In the Student Center or Kaldis (our campus coffee shop) typing away on my laptop. If it's before 12 pm, I'm probably sleeping in my dorm.

My favorite thing to do in Atlanta is...

Getting pasta at Ponce City Market! As a pasta lover, it's the best and freshest I've ever had. I also loved the High Museum of Art and can't wait to revisit!

What is your favorite Emory tradition?

By far, Midnight Pancakes at Oxford. Right smack in the middle of the hours we usually spend studying, everyone gathers in the dining hall in their PJ's and eats scrambled eggs, bacon, tater tots, sausage—and the most delicious feature of the night: the pancake bar!
