My discovery seminar class called Fakes, Forgeries, and Finance, taught by my first-year advisor, Professor Dobbin-Bennett. I learned so much about art collecting and authentication, and I don't think I'll ever look at a museum or art collection in the same way again. It was also one of my first college classes, so it really helped prepare me for my future classes at Emory, including building my writing and research skills.
go to concerts! Atlanta is a hub for popular and emerging artists from so many different genres, and it's been fun exploring the different concert venues in Atlanta. Some of my favorite artists that I've seen in Atlanta so far include Beyonce, Maggie Rogers, Noah Kahan, and Hozier. The Atlanta Symphony Orchestra also has cheaper tickets for college students, so my friends and I have enjoyed going to their classical concerts as well.
One of my favorite Emory traditions is Dooley's Week! Every day of that week, there is an event with a different theme that brings Emory's community together to have some fun! For example, one of my favorite Dooley events that I've been to was Dooley Out West, which involved cowboy hat decorating, a mechanical bull, and free food! At the end of Dooley's Week is the spring semester concert, which is free to all Emory undergraduate students. At these concerts, I've seen Bryce Vine, Dominic Fike, and Flo Rida!
sitting in the chairs on the Quad if the weather's good! It's the perfect place to study, hang out with friends, or just enjoy being surrounded by nature.
