My favorite Emory tradition is SongFest, where the first-year residence halls compete to see which hall is the best via song and dance. The tradition holds a special place in my heart as it is where I met some of my best friends at Emory.
at the Schwartz Dance Studio, where I take dance classes, work on my choreography, or dance for fun.
visit the Georgia Aquarium! The Georgia Aquarium is, in my opinion, one of the best in the nation, combining wildlife and environmental education with a magical atmosphere. This makes it the ideal location to visit with family or friends. Located in Centennial Park across from the World of Coca-Cola and the Civil Rights Museum, I recommend a full-day trip to experience all three attractions.
The most impactful class I have taken at Emory was History of Religious Wars with the incredible Professor James Melton. In this class, I learned about religious conflicts in Middle Ages Europe, such as the Crusades and the Inquisition. Although these events occurred hundreds of years ago, they have a lasting impact on the world today. Professor Melton, an expert on Middle Ages Europe, taught me what it truly means to be a good historian and, in doing so, helped set me on a path of success as a history major.
