I found Songfest one of the most fun and exciting parts of first-year orientation. As someone who considers myself not to have much rhythm I was extremely hesitant to participate. However, this experience allowed me to meet other students in my residence hall, connect with my sophomore advisors, and sing fun parodies to some of my favorite songs! To make the experience even more memorable, my residence hall won!
Explore the food and nature scene in Atlanta. As an Atlanta native, I love trying new restaurants and visiting new running and hiking trails! On the weekends you can find me at Ponce City Market, Atlantic Station, or Lullwater Preserve!
My most impactful class thus far was my first-year seminar: Humanitarian Intervention and Sexual Violence (AFS 190). I truly enjoyed getting to study the intersection between African Studies and Women, Gender, Sexuality Studies in a discussion based setting. Professor Scully provided excellent insight into succeeding in college, and even invited my class over for tea and homemade scones!
